This privacy notice discloses the privacy practices for, the website of the Public Alliance for Community Energy (ACE). This privacy notice applies solely to information collected by this website.

When you visit our site, we may collect two types of information:  non-personally identifiable information and personally identifiable information.

ACE only has access to and only collects information that you voluntarily provide via direct submission, such as website entry fields or other direct contact from you using the website.  This information may include any or all of the following:

  • Name
  • Telephone number
  • Email address
  • Black Hills Account ID number and Account Control Number
  • Service City

ACE is the sole owner of any information collected on our website. Visitors to our site who do not want their personally identifiable information collected online are asked to not submit such information to ACE. We will use your information to respond to you regarding the reason you contacted us.  ACE will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary for the operation of the website and other business purposes of ACE.

ACE takes precautions to protect your personally identifiable information. When you submit information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline. Wherever ACE collects sensitive information, that information is encrypted and securely transmitted to ACE.  You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of your web browser, or looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the web page.

While ACE uses encryption to protect personally identifiable information transmitted online, ACE also protects your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers on which ACE stores personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.
