Frequently Asked Questions

Natural gas prices are driven by the natural gas commodities market. Some factors that drive the market are supply, demand, weather and crude oil prices.

If you have an emergency, call 911. Any issues with meters, gas delivery, system safety and billing are the responsibility of the distributor (Black Hills) and can be contacted by calling (888) 890-5554.

ACE is the only community-owned natural gas supplier in the Nebraska Choice Gas program.

With a fixed rate per therm customers pay for the gas they use each month, when they use it. With ACE WeatherShield™ customers pay a set amount each month, no matter how much or little is used.

ACE is a community-owned supplier, ACE advocates for consumers and works to enhance the lives of Nebraskans.

While NYMEX prices are available publicly, monthly rates for the non-published CIG index are available only by subscription.

ACE cannot predict the market so it’s not possible to tell customers which option will be the cheapest for the upcoming gas year. Fixed rates are based on the gas futures market. Market rates change each month according to actual market price.

CIG (Colorado Interstate Gas) index more accurately reflects the price of natural gas to our region. NYMEX (New York Mercantile Exchange) is a publicly traded market, considered to be the national benchmark.

The Voice of Choice

"Oshkosh is proud to say we have been a member of ACE for more than 20 years! This is noticeable evidence for years to come of how Oshkosh residents will benefit...
