What is a carbon offset?

The ACE Green pricing option offsets 10 percent of your annual natural gas commodity usage through carbon offset projects and includes a donation to the Arbor Day Foundation for tree planting. All this for less than $1 per month!*

Carbon offsets are a way for consumers to support projects that reduce carbon dioxide and offset your individual carbon footprint. By using offsets, consumers indirectly reduce emissions through the purchase of carbon offsets, which represent a verified reduction in emissions of carbon dioxide, or other greenhouse gas emissions.  

ACE has partnered with a third-party project developer to ensure these carbon offsets are sourced from reputable projects independently verified by registries and benefit local communities in the U.S. Projects may include carbon capture and sequestration, renewable energy generation and landfill gas projects in Illinois, Montana, New York, North Carolina and Virginia.
