City of Franklin using ACE funds for park, library upgrades

The City of Franklin, Neb., is using its ACE funds to make improvements to its City Park and Library.

Improvements include installing an outdoor patio next to the City Library along with a new shelter and gazebo and a new park shelter and restroom building in Franklin City Park.

Along with ACE funds, funding support was provided by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, Franklin County Community Foundation and Friends of the Franklin Public Library.

Earlier this year, the City of Franklin received $6,911 from ACE’s revenue distribution program as part of ACE’s overall distribution of $400,000 to ACE communities. Overall, ACE has returned more than $61,000 to the City since ACE’s formation in 1998.

Funds returned to communities from ACE’s revenue distribution program are used by each community in a variety of areas, including improvements to public parks and swimming pools, public transportation, recreational trails, and community infrastructure.
