Known as the “100th Meridian City,” Cozad is named after founder John Cozad. The city includes more than 4,200 residents and is located in Central Nebraska. It is a charter member of ACE, joining the organization in 1998.
ACE has provided more than $22,000 in revenue distribution funds to the community. The funds have been used to plant many trees in local parks and help purchase an indoor athletics facility used for sports practices and kid/seniors activities.
“Cozad has been a member of ACE from the beginning and has witnessed the success of ACE in the competition of natural gas rates,” said Cozad City Clerk/Treasurer Susan Kloepping. “ACE has played a vital position in assisting Nebraska residents with the natural gas companies.”
The city includes a lot of points of history including the Lincoln Highway and the city’s original Pony Express station. Three major pioneer trails went through the city.
