The City of Chadron is a charter member of ACE. The City was among those core Nebraska communities in 1998 believing in the idea of a community-owned, not-for-profit natural gas supplier competing in the Choice Gas program.
Chadron has benefitted from ACE not only by being provided competitive natural gas rates through competition, but in the form of more than $27,800 in returned revenue distribution directly back to the community. The City plans on using those ACE funds to purchase a sanitary sewer extension for the community’s betterment.
“Receiving dividends is a benefit of being a member of ACE,” said Chadron City Manager Sandra Powell.
The city of more than 5,400 in northwest Nebraska, Chadron is the home to Chadron State college.
