Arapahoe is a charter member of ACE, joining the organization in 1998.
As an ACE member, Arapahoe received more than $10,000 that the community has used for enhancements for its park, including installing a drinking fountain, sidewalk and sprinkler system.
It also has used ACE funds to purchase a sound system for the community center as well as provide enhancements to the community pool and ball park concession stand.
Located in Furnas County in southwest Nebraska, the community of 1,028 residents is home to Our Lady of Fatima Shrine, a Veteran’s Memorial and numerous other recreational attractions.
The city was listed among the Best Places to Raise Your Kids in 2007 by Businessweek.com.
