Alliance is a charter member of ACE, joining the organization in February 1998.
The city received more than $49,000 in revenue distribution funds over the years from ACE. Those funds have been used for a variety of community improvements including equipment for the community swimming pool and picnic tables around the community’s new museum. Some of the funds are expected to be used to purchase large water fountains for a local park.
One of ACE’s benefits for Alliance and every ACE member is local control – each member community has a representative on the board of directors.
“We have a voice in decision making of a not-for-profit entity created to guarantee competition in the natural gas industry and advocates for the consumer and not a stock holder,” said Alliance City Councilman Dan Kusek.
